SILRC Mission Statement

The mission of SILRC is to facilitate interaction and cooperation among members and to provide access to resources that will enhance the services provided by the members to their institutions.

The following goals are established in pursuit of this mission:

• To facilitate the exchange of information and identify:
  • common vendors
  • discount opportunities
  • service agreements
  • trends
• To maintain or increase SILRC presence/representation within other groups and organizations such as:
  • NILRC and other Illinois Library Consortia
  • Missouri Library Network Corporation
  • Shawnee Library System
  • Lewis & Clark Library System
  • Legislative Organizations
• To identify and pursue at least one project each fiscal year; from one of, but not limited to, the following areas:
  • Professional development workshops
  • grant applications
  • cooperative collection development
