The Southern Illinois Learning Resource Cooperative (SILRC) owns a stack mover that is housed at Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC), 2500 Carlyle Avenue, Belleville, Illinois 62221.

A short videotape produced by the manufacturer is available for check out on "how to" use of the SILRC stack mover. Please contact the office of the Dean of Learning Resources for information on checking out this videotape. The stack mover is best used on metal shelving units that are not connected to the walls. A maintenance-staff member from your institution can easily assemble the equipment.

The library making the reservations for the stack mover is responsible for picking up and returning the equipment to Southwestern Illinois College. At least a Full-sized pick-up truck must be used to transport the equipment; any trailer or smaller truck will not be able to transport this equipment.

The stack mover is rented for $150 per day except pickup and delivery days. SILRC members are charged only $50 per day except pickup and delivery days. Payment is made to the SILRC treasurer after the equipment is returned to Southwestern Illinois College.

A contract outlining the terms of the rental agreement will be sent to the requesting library upon receipt of a letter for reservation. This contract will include the pick up date of the equipment from SWIC, the return date of the equipment to SWIC, the approximate number of days of use, the approximate total charge for use, as well as any other pertinent information regarding the rental of the stack mover.

Please note: Summer is usually a busy time for renovations, therefore, it is suggested that the earlier the reservation is made and confirmed the better the chance to have use of the equipment.
